How do Irish Electrical qualifications compare to those in America?
I'm looking into how my Irish Electrician's qualifications would compare to the American ones if I were thinking of Emigration to America? Has anybody done similar or would there be new examinations to be taken or will the Irish ones be widely accepted once I was familiar with the Electrical codes for where I was going?

New examinations I.m afraid. I was an Aircraft fiter in the RAF and tried to emigrate to the states (my wife was American) But they have different practices there, and you need to learn them. Also, if you are an electrician why should you get a jobwhen an American electrician is out of work !! Not being slight, but that is what they asked me !!!!!!!!!!
