If you are talking about the Baconian Method of scientific inquirey (and not cooking or acting) then it is exactly the opposite of the Scientific Method.

In the scientific method, you develop a theory about what might happen when the evidence is examined, and the theory changes depending on the evidence.

In the Baconian Method, you decide ahead of time how something works, then try to make the evidence prove it.

His method is called induction, as opposed to the deductive method used by other scientists.
