Think of a number?
Think of a number with any number of digits (12345 for example) now change around the digits (32514). Subtract the smaller from the larger (32514-12345=20169). Now choose 1 non-zero number from the remaining digits (I choose 1). Remove the digit chosen from the number (2069). Mix this number up again (6902) and give it to me. Then come back in a few minutes and see if I can guess the number you chose.
Piratedoll, I think you chose 8
Police: was it 9?
Little Miss: 1?
Clare: 9?
Romy: is your number 1?
Janice: Did you pick 8?
Xtina: did you also choose 8?
Wait, I need to recalculate Xtina, didn't notice that you had more numbers, give me a minute
Xtina, I'm going to change my guess to 7 after seeing the other numbers . . . gotta see them all
Umra: 1
Alexis: 2
Alloy: 8?
Alexis, you sure you followed the directions properly. If it is not 2, I would like to see how you got what you got.
Da Bears, I think you removed an 8.
Alexis, the only way you could have gotten a 5 is if you didn't follow the directions properly.
Alexis: I think it is 1 (if neither of us made a mistake). This is to get you guys thinking. I'm no mind reader, but why could I get this right? I want to get people thinking, so you don't have to feel sorry. Maybe I was the one that made the mistake. I hope I'm right about your number. If so, try and figure out why (hint: look at the other peoples numbers and my guesses, it won't tell you everything, but it's a start).
Alexis, you seem to be taking a lot of concern in my questions, and I thank you for that. But could you please show me how you got your answer. What was your first number? What did you subtract from it? Then you removed one of the numbers (a 7 I guess), and then mixed the digits up again. I don't understand how you are getting your answers.
And it isn't a probability trick, it is something that I have mathematically proven to be true.
you forgot the 3 at the beginning. If you include this, then yes, 7 is missing :)

We r humans, humans r mortal, and humans make mistakes!!!
