  • Judgement granted for property settlement in divorce...?

Is there anyone out there who was granted a property settlement judgement when their divorce was granted + interest on the unpaid balance at --% etc. etc. and if you collected from the ex (who refused to pay it initially) how did you do it? By the way, I'm in Texas and need information about Texas law and how it works out here. Any referrals, online resources, or info from you lawyers out there would be greatly appreciated. I was married to him for 20 years, barely escaped with the clothes on my back and a car, he destroyed all my personal belongings - - clothes, family heirlooms, pictures, etc. by digging a hole in the ground and shoving it all in and burying it. (Symbolic, huh?) The divorce drug on for almost 5 years, but I finally got it, and the judge awarded me a $50K cash settlement + 10% interest. That was 4 years ago. I have a job, but no money set aside for retirement. This could make a big difference in my "golden years", but I need to know what I am up against.

  • Need a good cat name for a siamese kitten...?

She is a slender, long legged blue point with an attitude. She's also very frisky and active, extremely curious (gets into everything) and aloof. When she cuddles up beside me and allows me to pet her, she speaks with little chirps and chortles. She reminds me of an angel with a little bit of devil mixed in! Does anyone know of a suitable name? Her eyes are huge, round blue crystals and she is ivory with light blue-grey siamese points.

What's her greatest handicap? Being female? Wife of good ol' philandering Bill? What are your thoughts? Will she be elected? Will she do a good job? What will this do to relations in the Middle East? All jokes aside, will Bill be "First Gentlemen", "First Husband" - what will he be called?

  • I need a good recipe for Amaretto balls!?

I used to have a recipe that called for vanilla wafers and pecans - and they were rolled in coconut. These are like rum balls but you use Amaretto liquor instead of the rum. They may have had semi sweet chocolate chips, too. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Need your recipe! Thanks!

  • Legal Question regarding Cash Award granted by court.?

This is a serious question and I hope to receive some serious answes - especially need advice from Texas attorney. My spouse and I divorced three years ago after 18 years of marriage in which we accumulated normal household paraphenalia. After a lenghthy and ugly divorce. I finally managed to obtain a divorce and was awarded a $50,000. 00 cash settlement. Additionally it accrues 10% per annum on the unpaid balance. I have NEVER received a dime! MY ex thinks it's funny.

In the meantime, he inherited cash and real property upon the death of his mother. I don't know the exact amount of the money, but the land is worth close to $200.000 and there are no mortgages or liens against the property.

His mother's estate was not probabeted. There are two other siblings besides my ex-husband.

In my way of thinking, he now (or will, soon) acquire sufficient assets to pay me. What steps do I take to accomplish this? I am

56 years old, and running out of time!

Money or happiness? Would you accept a job paying less (lots less, but enough to survive) which offered you a chance to do something you truly loved doing...or a job with a big salary doing something you're good at, qualified for, but not especially enthusiastic about?

  • What do you do about insomnia?

I've tried OTC sleep aids which didn't work and then my doctor prescribed temazapam first, then ambien and finally lunesta. (None of which helped). I'm in good health and I'm not depressed. At first I could fall asleep without a problem, but couldn't stay asleep; now it's hard to fall asleep or stay asleep. If this has happened to you, how did you cope? Is there something that will help me get some sleep?
