I think my kid is tall (and smart) for his age?

My son turned 2 in May. He is 36 inches, and also an 81/2 shoe. The doctor say he is in the 85th percentile for height, so your son is probably above average for height at least...

My daughter turned 2 in April and she too wears an 8 1/2 shoe and is about 37 inches tall. Since she was 16 months old she has been able to very clearly sing her ABC's and she can count to 16. She knows her colors and animals and speaks in complete sentences all the time. Like, this morning, she said, " I have an idea momma. I'll go get the diaper and you sit right there." Stuff like that. Whether your child is of average or above intelligence or not is kind of hard to say. If you think he's smart, then he probably is. You can always ask a professional.

Well I would say that he is right on track because my 2 year and 9 month old wears a size 8/9 sometimes varying on the shoe. my daughter can reach the freezer too isn't that amazing. Take him to the pediatrician and they will tell you exactly where he is on a growth chart so then you will have accurate information.

that sounds normal. i have a 2 1/2 yr old boy who is 37 inches tall, takes a size 11 toddler shoe and can reach all the countertops. if you take your son to the pediatrician for a check up they will do height and weight and be able to tell you what percentile he falls into for his age group.

My son is 3 years old and 3 months, he's 41 inches and 50 pounds. He's above average and smart.

average height for a 2 year old is 32-40 inches tall. so your child is average on height

and i am sure like most parents myself included you think your children are the most beautiful and most intelligent children you know.

no i dont think he is too tall but he just might be growing very fast , but take him to see his doc and ask him to see what he thinks he might just be taller than normal plus are u or ur wife tall if not maybe he isnt ur son no that was a joke

Be careful how you mold this young mind. You don't want this genius to turn into another Leopold and Loeb horror story. It's possible. Let him get his own identity, and have him very active in life, with friends and family.

Talk to your pediatrician about that. They'll be able to inform you of what is normal
