Do I need to disable my anti-virus program to play a PC game?

My Rome:Total War game seems to freeze when the anti-virus is on.

Check the documenttaition for your AV program. You should be able to set an exemption for your games executable or folder. This should help with your problem.

i take advantage of a loose Anti-Virus application said as avast. I had Mcphee(sp) and the Norton. both slowed down my computer plenty!! This doesnt seem to sluggish it down in any respect. I dont even be conscious at the same time as its scanning. I sport also. Google Avast and get carry of it. i'd attempt that previously spending money on one.
