What do u think ? Who are you? A BODY or a SOUL?? will destroy in this life or remain eternal??

I believe that I am a soul IN a body.

The Sufi Saint Hazrat Inayat Khan asked us to look at life as eternal. When we see that, we understand that this phase, of life on earth, is just that, a period of time during our eternal life, that we exist with a body.

The body is important; it is made of the stuff of this earth which God created for us. Our body is made up of it, and through that our soul can understand the earth and creation. This includes the mind which is a part of the body but not part of the soul.

When the body passes away we, as a soul, pass into another phase of our eternal life. The body gets returned to the earth from which it came until the last day when God resurects all of us.

I am my body

There is no soul, only traces of our existence. Which are still contained in the physical world.

We are created from base elements and I believe as a body devoid of life decaying we return to these base elements.

Perhaps becoming part of other living organisims, like our children etc.

In a way we all linked together and linked to everything around us.

One interesting side note of my opinion which I have a problem with (though I think only through definition of "the self") is that what for example I lose an arm.

The arm on its own is not me.

So we remove another arm and put them together yet they are not me. What if I was cut in two? Which half is the true self?

When is a table a table type thing.

Maybe it all goes back to descarte, but still our mind is only the chemical reactions in our brain.

Im a body. A body, a group of cells working together. I cant believe in any form of a soul as i cant se anything wrong with the biological model of the human body that need the existence of a soul. I would hate to think of how having a soul would fit into the world where people get Alzheimer’s or braindead, to wonder what part of them is still trapped in their physical body. I believe more in the logical view where our minds are products of our thoughts, the grand total of years of chemical reactions aking place in our brains.

When it comes down to it, you have to remember that we only think we are thinking. we are only shadows and dust in the end..

I believe I'm both a body and a soul. The soul will live forever so it's more important, but I have a responsibility to keep my body healthy and not abuse it since doing so would bring unnecessary pain.

I am both.The body will turn to energy or other forms of matter. The soul will live after death. I do not know how memory stays with a soul and whether a brain (in a body) is needed to store it.

We are all made up of body, soul and spirit.

You have a body, and a personality, and so has everyone.

We are all eternal beings, but we will spend eternity in one of two places. Heaven or hell.
