Why people want to stay is beyond my comprehension. It was an illegal war to start off with and now the soldiers are targets! They aren't going to stop the civil war, and the only way they are going to stop the terrorism would be to leave!

We could be doing everyone a favor.

Is 3 Million 400 thousand barrels of oil worth spending 1/2 Trillion dollars for, not to include the 2,769 military who have been killed there, 2,300 after Bush declared Victory. That sure is a strange war, we have lost 10 times more people after we won than in the war we while we were fighting!

I'm sure the US Military & its counterpart military allies are all aware Iraq is a conflict they can never win. The same as Vietnam. However, the military is subservient to its Gov'ts. It obeys orders and carries them out. Not forgetting not one of them will openly say so as they have their careers to think about and want those 4 stars! Years from now when the Iraq veterans gather to rember this useless war and those lost maybe our politicians (made up of ex 4 star ?) will have learnt to tread more carefully.

Equally, if such a conflict is to be entered into again do it with mercenaries and volunteers and allow them to set the rules and support them to the hilt & clamp down the media press.

The M&V's will settle it in no time. As for the media press its impossible to know whose damned side there on. They file every piece of dirt they can against our own men totally forgetting what were up against, what were fighting.

Were fighting Islam extremists. they dont have rules or values as we do. Our press and politicians are too far removed from reality & will not sit down and take a deep hard look at whats being destroyed and lost in America. Its time to pull out and let dog eat dog.

I don't know of any of our military LEADERS who would admit defeat off the record and not make his/her views known to the American people.

The democratic response, secretly dictated to an unknown reporter, in a conversation witnessed by several high ranking senators was made by the leader of a congressional think-tank spokesman who spoke on condition of annonimity, saying, what can we do? We have to find this guy(bin laden) and we can't stop until we do.

This excerpt was taken from the notes of a northeastern newspaper reporter who left them on his desk for all eyes to see.

When confronted about the notes the reporter told this reporter that he obtained the information from a reliable source who he refuses to name.
