Recovery disk?
I have an e machines laptop but I dont have any of the cds it came with. It is like flooded with viruses and spyware. Is there any way I can download one and burn it from my other cpu. Also, it is protected by a password and my brother forgot what it was so we cant even get to the desktop, we have been on it recently and the internet didnt work. I just wasnt to start it completely from scratch.

pull the harddrive, and plug it into another computer, format it there. windows install disks are expensive, but you cant re install windows on the blank drive without one.
put the blank drive back in the lap top and insert the cd and boot it up. If the computer does not automaticaly run the windows setup, then you may need some flopies that come with the cd to make it read the cd.

You are going to have to reformat... If you can get on the internet get some virus protection and spyware stormer... Don't download stuff without scanning it first.

best bet.. go buy a new operating system and other software you want. Then install the OS on the Hard Disk along with all of the software you want on it.
