The Italian guy insulted Zidane during the match! This is really dirty!!!?
Di u know what the Italian guy said to Zidane which made him hit back? He said something about racialism, which is very insulting! What a dirty trick, guess nobody can ignore it without fighting back! What a shame!
What u guys think about it? Is it still fair?

Look, in the field you hear a lot of things... if not go ask Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o response to many MANY racial insults towards himself, from TOP league players. Yet still, Eto'o took Barcelona this year to the Champions League Cup all the way to the final and WON. He kept it to level.
In soccer, dirty tricks are always the key to the opponent's disadvantage. During corner kicks, or penalty shots, guys pinch each other's butts, pull down shirts AND shorts, poke a guy's butt and ears, pull hair, tell themselves crude comments (like the one Matterazzi "told" Zidane), and yet most keep their heads IN the game, and keep off from taking it personal.
Zidane's reaction, aside from him being a great, professional and veteran player, was of all the least of what you would expect from a figure like him, specially being at the peak of his carreer. It was a reaction based on frustration, which in this game, in a World Cup final is unexcusable to rely on feelings towards winning at such point of the game. Time was ticking, he was almost at the end of the line, and he blew it with a personal counterblow.
With his reaction, following his expulsion, gave away the french's hope to winning this tournament.
This game is after all, based on TEAM effort, and it's not played as a single selfish human being. Zidane should have thought of his team first, of his ambition to the cup. Guess by that reaction, you just get the idea that he didn't wanted his team to win after all. Had he thought as a team, and not as himself only, the score might have been different.

I personally think that swearing in the sense of racial insults should be banned from sports or players should be penalized as bad as hitting a player...both Materazzi and Zidane should have been kicked out of the game....Materazzi for calling Zidane a "F*** Arab Terrorist" (Zidane was interviewed after the game in TF1.FR & Stated what was said..) & Zidane for head butting Materazzi.......Both are not cool act at all especially at this level !!!

No, I don't think it was fair. But I also don't think Zidane should have responded the way he did. I was all for the French team, but when Zidane head-butted that guy, I was really disappointed. Italy deserved to win just because of that awful display of poor sportsmanship.

yeah, i forgive zidane....he is so awesome! if it was a racial insult, then he should have gotten head butted even harder than he did, and he should have gotten a red card as well. but, who knows, only those two know for sure what was said. im sure the media will pick up on it with in the next few hours, and we will all know. i hope this wont be zidanes last legacy! he sure is an awesome player!

Anything to win? I hate the way Italians play football. but they won the game. Maybe they lost face at the same time.
But this will probably make Zidane even more popular when people found out what made him do that.

I dont think anyone knows what was said. Unless you know otherwise. If it was Racial then I suppose it would have been hard not to lose control. I dont know perhaps Zidane will tell some time soon.
