Why do people go to Walmart for tires and oil changes?
I was wondering why people go to Walmart to get tires and service work done. It's always took about two hours when my girlfriend went there. Sure its cheaper but is it worth waiting and shopping for two hours?

people are cheap and want the best price. They dont take into account of the type of oil used and the accuracy that is taken when changing oil. Plus I guess they like supporting foreign companies because walmart is the worst non USA parts using store in the country. And to the person that said a stand alone company you have nothing to do for 2 hours I dont know where you are going but I get mine done at a pennzoil and 10-15 minutes tops I have new oil filter greased all fluids inspected door hinges sprayed and am on my way I dont wouldnt care if they charged me $50 I would rather pay it than go to a place like walmart. by the way it costs me $28 for that full service. Walmart charges alot less but look at the quality of workers and the type of products they are using no thanks.

Because they have no f-ing clue and dont give a rats behind about their vehicle. Those mechanics at WALMART are in a word, morons. DO NOT let them UNDERCOAT your vehicle either! They can't even do that right! They got undercoating ALL OVER my boyfriends truck, on the hood, on the side and it's basically ruined the paint. It looks TERRIBLE. Those mechanics at WalMart fix something and break another. Too many examples to give. DO NOT GO THERE FOR AUTO SERVICE!

It looks like you forgot to gather evidence. Does the body shop have pictures of the damage? I'm curious as well how the radiator damage is connected. It sounds more like a poorly timed coincidence unless the bumper was damaged to the point of it also piercing the radiator. Hate to say it, but that one part sounds like poorly timed radiator leak. As far as customer service is concerned, it would be a wise choice for them to pay for the radiator if they did the other damage. What kind of damage was it? I'm asking because I'm curious how it was damaged. Is it possible that it is from a car hitting your car? That is something you want to consider before you end up taking it to court. As far as dealing with insurance companies and lawsuits, you're doing yourself a huge disservice by the ranting and raving in the letter. I know it helps feel better, but: 1) You're just going to delay the process longer. The more opinions you put into something like that, the less time the person will have to read what you are saying. They'll likely set it aside for another time. Keep your message very clear. You might even want to set down a bullet listing of points rather than an actual letter. 2) It might hurt if it does get taken to court. It will show an irrationality on your part. Her letter, while seemingly unhelpful in your situation, was at least very direct and professional. It said she tried to contact you on such and such a date and got a certain message. To proceed, she needs certain information and evidence. 3) "Why don't you just tell me now what you plan on doing..." She did. She said to send her this information and then they will proceed from there. It sounds like you did not send her pictures (you assumed Wal Mart would send those pictures on). It is not their job to provide the evidence if you're the one making the damage claim. If anything, they would try to not have evidence. I'm not saying they're not at fault. It sounds like they are. I'm just saying the way to handle these things is very different from the way you are handling them and if you continue that way, you will make it harder on yourself.

Well, as a mother of 3, it is difficult to go wait an hr or more in a stand alone shop. It is much easier to contain my kids in a shopping cart walking around Walmart. Besides, I get my shopping done in 1 trip.

They use the same parts, that you would buy in a part store.. so thats not a problem..
and if you go to a dealership, or a firestone, or a pep boys... trained 'TECHNICIANS' dont waste their time on doing oil changes or tires (ex employee).. they hire an inexperienced kid for 6.00/hr to do those waste of time jobs.. unless they are part of a bigger work order or the job they are doing involves changing the oil..... and even then, they sill go get the 6.00/hr kid to do it for him while he works on somethin else...
so the same person you are taking your car to in a 'professional' shop... chances are the kid at walmart used to work their doing the same thing...... (and yes.. ive worked in all those places in a formal life)

Because they don't have a Costco nearby?? Honestly.. Costco has just as good prices and a lot quicker flat repair. And they don't do the oil changes so they don't have to remember to put the oil in the car after they drain it, same with antifreeze.. Some people are just too dumb to know how to do that easy stuff so they pay others to do it for them.
