Cuz back during the Revolutionary War, they took the coffee beans and packed them in these sacks real tight, and used them for cannon balls cuz they ran short on regular cannon balls sometimes -- they had limited success, but finally they got a direct hit on an enemy vessel, and sank it. The men then adopted the battle cry "Sank A Ship! Sank A Ship!" So then in modern times the coffee became known as "Sanka."
