Why can't USAmericans buy cars as good as the rest..?
of the World? Where's my 54 mpg Tata? How come our SmartCar is bigger, heavier than the Europeans'? Why do we put up with insurance companies running (and ruining) the auto industry? Are we that scared?
An auto accident need not be a Lottery ticket.

I mean, if a woman puts on a fake beard while she's pregnant, does she get on Oprah? Bee-zaarrre!

Yeah, the phone is expensive, but I've heard the real killer is paying to use the various services.

8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat's the toll-free number to get 411 info?
I don't want to find a toll free number, I want to DIAL a toll free number and GET information on regular numbers. Instead of paying Verizon a buck and a half.
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoDo the ads keep you from watching Yahoo! News Video?
They do me. I don't have time to watch a minute or so of a NetFlix ad - I'm already a Netflix subscriber - to watch a minute or so of news. Sorry, Yahoo!, not going there anymore.
3 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoBush wants me to use even less energy?
Why can't we have a President who endorses boundless, affordable energy?
Yeah, I think we ought to go to Iran - and find out how to build a nuclear reactor! We haven't permitted a new one in 30 years!
2 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat the heck is a "holy city", anyway?
I mean, they're always talking abut the "holy city of Kajaf" and such in Iraq. Would South Bend, Indiana qualify as a "holy city"? I mean, they've got Notre Dame U. there.
How about 'the Holy City of Nashville, Tennessee", where they print all the Bibles in this country?
Or, "the Holy City of Salt Lake" - home of the Mormon Tabernacle?
Or, the "Holy City of New Orleans", home of the Saints?

That is, after all, what Iran says it's doing. That'd have to be scary for a bunch of oilmen, wouldn't it?
9 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDecent, protable (battery?) printer?
Is there such a thing I can take on the road? Should be reasonably dependable, able to kick out 10-20 sheets on a battery charge. Small.

11 AnswersOther - Arts & Humanities1 decade agoQuestion about the TomTom GPS. Input address?
I've read what I can find about these things, and I know you have to put in sets of maps and software, and I know it can get you where you're going, but HOW do you tell it where to go? Like, if I'm sitting in traffic in Atlanta, how can I tell it the address of my destination? I don't think you talk to it, and there's no keyboard. ???
2 AnswersCommuting1 decade agoOld plastic musical instrument?
There used to be a thing about the size of a recorder - it was plastic and had an octave or two of black and white keys - you blew into a platic mouthpiece on the end and fingered the notes. What the heck was that thing called?
