Some websites I go to I get this message:

Click to run an ActiveX control on this website

I hit ok and then the internet browser closes. How can I get rid of this? It is not letting me open up pages and I have no idea what I hit before that.... HELP!

Update:

I click ok to activate it

BUT then everything shuts down... The browser closes and I get an error message from internet explorer

I suggest not to run ActiveX controls on any sites, unleast trusted sites. Otherwise just ignore it. Some websites that request to run ActiveX might install, with your permission (when you click ok) spyware or any other mallware application, even if you are protected by an anti virus.

You dont want to turn this off as it actually protects your computer from spyware and etc. It should have a yellow bar pop up at the top that you can right click on and say to install or allow. If this doesnt help in the tools-> internet options is ap lace to turn it off.
