How do you set up a "roaming" wireless network?

I have a wireless access point (Linksys WAP54G) plugged into a wired router and several other WAPs (also WAP54G)that I plan to spread around my location. My main question is - can I set the SSIDs differently on the other WAPs? Their wireless security are all identical to the network and I've MAC cloned the wireless MAC address of the main access point to the Access Point Clients.

What if I use Linksys WRE54G (several - about 2 or 3)? Can I set the SSID differently on them?

Yes, you can set different SSID's. However, be sure that you have different channels on each AP. For example, AP 1 would be on channel 1, AP 2 would be on channel 6, and AP 3 would be on channel 11. This will eliminate interference between AP's.
