Eiznot
I'm a hopeless insomniac and caffiene addict. I like techie stuff (particularly computers and networking) but don't really consider myself a wiz at it. I really like learning new things, and sharing what I know - that's why Yahoo Answers really appeals to me.
What site or sites are good sources of info on the latest discoveries in Earth Science?
Which websites have the latest info on the discoveries? Some sites have info on Earth Science and its discipline but nothing much about the latest discoveries. I'm looking for the latest discoveries in any of the 4 disciplines (geography, geology, geophysics or geodesy) of Earth Science. (But getting the latest on all 4 would be great!.. )
1 AnswerEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoWhat are the difference between the "magic-users" often found/mentioned in stories and legends?
I was wondering what were the differences with the following:
-wizard
-warlock
-sorcerer
-druid
If any one knows a site that could provide some insights on the different magic they use, it would be great!
...er, is Merlin a wizard or sorcerer??? :)
5 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoHow do I start my way into becoming a vegetarian?
I have always wanted to become a vegetarian because of the benefits. Unfortunately, because of my lifestyle (workshift mainly graveyard, culture where majority are meat eaters - particularly pork), I always end up failing.
Any suggestions from those who've converted to being vegetarians/vegans?

4 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agoHow can I get the Access Restrictions to work on the router?
I have the WRT54G, with firmware 1.00.9 (I upgraded from 1.00.6). I tried blocking by URL and blocking by Keyword. Neither one worked.
Any suggestions?
3 AnswersInternet1 decade agoWHat would be a healthier and more effective alternative for coffee/caffiene?
I work the graveyard shift and staying awake is crucial. Staring at the computer long hours while fighting off sleep is one of usual stuff you come up against. Coffee doesn't seem to be effective in keeping me awake (I can drink up to 9 mugs - I counted).
Any suggestions on what healthier alternative I can replace coffee with? Tea won't do, tried that too.

6 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoIs the 64-bit PCI expansion slot a common feature now on motherboard?
If the adapter specification I'm planning to get is PCI, would I need to be concerned about the expansion slot on my PC? Since this is commonly just 32bit (or am I confusing this with the 64bit processor - since some adapters don't have drivers for 64bit?)
What is the difference between PCI, PCI-X and PCI Express or PCIe?
Is the PCI-X and PCIe found now on motherboards?
Are the 3 compatible (can insert and use any PCI adapter on the same slot?)
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoHow do you set up a "roaming" wireless network?
I have a wireless access point (Linksys WAP54G) plugged into a wired router and several other WAPs (also WAP54G)that I plan to spread around my location. My main question is - can I set the SSIDs differently on the other WAPs? Their wireless security are all identical to the network and I've MAC cloned the wireless MAC address of the main access point to the Access Point Clients.
What if I use Linksys WRE54G (several - about 2 or 3)? Can I set the SSID differently on them?
1 AnswerComputer Networking2 decades agoSQL connection problem when remote users access server?
Remote users have ODBC on each of their computers. We access the server from our main office, but the connection is soooo slow, and most often then not, we get disconnected.
Any body know if packets can be re-sized when sending data? If so how?
Or is the only option to get a higher bandwidth? (sheeeez we hope not, 'coz this'll mean we have to wait for budget approval which'll be when hell freezes over...)
