Why don't people resolve their questions on here?

A person can responde to questions and respond and respond....the more questions they respond to the more 2 pts they get. Don't people every look at the questions they have asked and pick the best answers???

    I try to pick a best answer within 2 days.. i just got a e mail today for a best answer that i answered 3 weeks ago! that is stupid.. if you do not get what you are looking for just pick one and be done with it..

    You know what gets me though... when they do not pick a best answer and leave it to be voted on they are just drilling out the process because who the heck wants to vote on a best answer and get one point for it when you can type harkejar and get 2 !

    And the person is just delaying getting there 3 points back..

    so once you pick a best answer get ur 3 points rather the answers suck or not.

    This is just me, but when I ask a question, typically I will leave it open for 2 days to give people enough time to answer my question. But, if the question I do ask doesn't give me the answer that I am looking for, I will then put it up to a vote of the public. IF I do get an answer that I like I will vote for that answer and resolve my own question. I have only asked two questions on this site, the first question I asked didn't get a turn out and no one was voting so I closed the question. The second question gave me better results and I resolved the question.

    I personally think that some people ask so many questions that they forget which ones they have resolved, put to a vote or closed. Then again there are just some people who are abscent minded and might not be on the internet as much as some others.

    From the perspective of the person POSTING the questions:

    It is a relatively NEW concept for many people and I have found that the POSTERS often don't know that THEY are responsible for PICKING the best answer. For the others, they just don't care, and the unresolved question will eventually go to public vote.

    ==========

    From the perspective of the ANSWERERS:

    They can help decide THE BEST ANSWER for questions that have been answered and VOTE which was the best answer (for 1 point per question).

    No they do not want to take the time. Some people are rudely on here for kicks anyway and enjoy asking a stupid question that they want to laugh about and so why go back and pick a good answer. I am not like that and I would rather pick my best answer rather than have someone else do it.

    I do not know if they pick the best answers or not. I think that some "true" people ask questions on here to get honest answers, and perhaps to look at their problems from different perspectives.

    Yes, some of them take 2-3 weeks to do it though. Some want to collect all the info they can because they really want to learn from their questions. Other who might not care will resolve it in 1-2 days.

    I wonder that exact same thing. We take the time to write back good answers, and then nothing comes of it. People are lazy.
