Why do so many non-americans ask questions to try to make americans look bad?

They aren't getting enough Bush at home.

In 2002 Business for Diplomatic Action put together a task force in 17 countries, sent researchers into the street to do random sampling, nothing quantitative about it, nothing scientific about it, and asked people "What do you like about America? What don't you like about America?"

And as you would expect so soon after 9/11, the positives were, "It is a land of opportunity, of wealth and success." Diversity was much admired, cultural and ethnic diversity; a land of creativity and innovation; youthful enthusiasm sometimes bordering on naivete; optimism and sort of the can-do spirit; business acumen and a lot of those things.

But even so soon after 9/11 the negatives were very consistent across regions of the world, and very strident. We were seen as bullies.

1. The perception that Americans exploit, that we move into countries and we take what is to our advantage and we do not give back, the whole idea of American-led globalization leaving some people out.

2. The corrupting influence that American brands, American Entertainment products promote values that are inconsistent with social morays and local cultures--sometimes even in conflict with religions.

3. The ugly American. Our collective personality as a people was described as arrogant, ignorant, loud, totally self-absorbed.

4. Materiality, hyper consumerism — that perception that all Americans care about is the accumulation of goods.

And so this was the beginning of 2002. None of these negative perceptions were about foreign policy, per say. That all of them could be directly or indirectly linked to American led globalization.

Coz Americans are considered to be the most developed. And it may be due to a non-american's jealousy which makes him ask such questions. But there may be some genuine questions so plz do not generalize what I said.

B/c every non-american thinks they are better than an american and vice versa.

America is very different in values than most other countries.

We are workoholics, over sexed, over paid, over drugged and coming from a perspective of a French man or even a Haiti man, we do seem a bit barbaric don't you think?

Most other cultures value family and time more than we do.

Most of the ones I see are serious questions, Why do you find them hard to answer or feel threatened by them? Some of us out here really want to know why USA does some of the stuff it is doing. Sensitive questions are still questions.

IVESCON, WE Americans didn't all vote Bush into office, and most of WE Americans hate his guts. So take your YOU Americans crap and stuff it into the next ballot box you see.

i just don't agree with america wanting to control other people's politics. what right do they have to do such a thing? who made the states the "world police"? they just have no right.

because look at who you americans put in charge of your country you americans can not be that smart

Maybe if we didn't press our views and agendas on the rest of the world they would like us better.
