Why would you trust him?

Thinking of the story of the great flood, a story of a god whose creation had become so bad that he decides to kill his creation. Then thinking of Noah, a person god chose above all others to save. Noah gets off the boat, gets drunk and abuses his grandson. Why would anyone trust a god who so obviously makes mistakes?

First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? This is the one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion. This one I can trust.

Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer. I don’t trust this one either

Once I felt a lot like you are feeling now then something happened that made me feel the real Gods presence. I was an atheist then one day I had a sort of a vision of a distant relative that lived over a thousand miles away. I convinced myself that it was just a case on an overactive imagination. Three days later I got a call telling me that he had gone into a coma and died the same day that I felt I had been contacted by him. I can honestly say that this changed my life completely. I felt like God had gone out of his way to help me find my way home. This is why I get angry when people talk about the judgmental God. The love I felt that day made me realize that God would never even think about judging or punishing anyone for any reason.

You don't need religion to have faith in the real loving God. In fact it is an impediment.

Your mind must be sharp to have cut through the nonsense and gotten to this point of realization that this idea of God could not possibily be an idea you could beilieve in. I suggest you get a copy of the course in miracles. It is like the antidote for all the lies you have ever heard about a judgmental God. You can read reviews for it on amazon if you want.

Um, Noah's flood story stolen from another culture. god designed by a nomadic people who didn't have time to learn all the gods in the areas they traveled through.

I don't know why, (I read some the answers here) god didn't just destroy man altogether if he repented making us. I don't know how god can allow free will and know everything about everybody at the same time, I don't know why anyone would trust any god, might as well trust Woody Woodpecker or Fred Flintstone.

Most Christians don't know any of the answers, that is why all you get is crap answers.

Yeah how does that work considering that God knows all, therefore knew Noah was going to do that, so why would God choose Noah in the first place? Noah may have chosen his actions, but God chose Noah fully aware of Noah's actions.

Hi, I am a born again christian.....I don't think Father God made a mistake there at all.....God is a God of love and forgiveness especially in this generation....he forgives and blesses all of us in different ways...maybe in ways you cannot see but life itself is a blessing living it...breathing..the breath of life is also a luxury....God breathed life into Adams nostrils and thereby giving Adam life...what a gift..don't you think...?? Just think about the flowers in the gardens, all the sea creatures, all the creatures that walk the earth etc God made them all for us to respect and to use if necessary like horses people ride horses so God gave us horses to ride for enjoyment.....Many people that have come to God have received miraculous healings all over the world....Noah was saved because he was faithful to the very end of his life to God....Nobody else was paying attention to what God was saying back in Noah's time...so he destroyed them with the big flood....God had a point to make...and he made it.....

Hi, there are two ways to look at this subject. First view as you have already expressed says that God makes mistake. The other view is that God respects freedom. You can understand this situation by this simple example. Suppose there is a person who has a son or a daughter. She intends to have a loving family where children are brought-up with good moral principles. The child in his young age turns out to be rebellious and does many things that grieves his mother's heart. Did the mother commit mistake in giving birth to that child? You may probably say that she did not, because she did not know the future and did what suited her best as a married woman. The only difference between her case and God's case is that God knows the future. Biblical view of God creating man and woman is that He may love them. But He did not intend to force His love upon human beings. For the two things to co-exist, there is a possibility when human being may fail to fulfill what God would intend from them in His relationship. Thus, God gives freedom to the extent that human-beings can even disown God if the wish to do so. But God while gives freedom, He is also sovereign. This means that God has the power to do anything that He desires. His love which gives freedom to human beings to have a free-will co-exists with His sovereignty. Book of Romans deal with a similar subject in its begining chapters. Paul wrote, "when the sin increased, grace increased all the more." God has given a permanent solution to fallible nature of human beings by giving His Son Lord Jesus Christ to die for the world on the cross. Through Jesus, even the one who is fallible is completely acceptable in the sight of God. Because God has the power to undo the mistakes of human beings, that is, yours and mine, we can trust God with unshakeable faith. I hope this answers your question.

Noah was the most righteous of those still alive before the flood. It doesn't mean he was perfect. As for abusing his grandson, you are mistaken. Noah got drunk and was naked, and his son Ham made fun of his father for it instead of covering his father's nakedness. He and his discendants were cursed by God for his sin. For not honouring his father.

Firstly God's creation ws not created bad. He gave humans free will. Do you know what that is?

God had to destroy humanity except Noah's famly and animals because Fallen Angels had sexual relations with humans and created horrible creatures (you think al those fables and children stories are jus t stories? not. Goliath? the giants, the ones with one eye etc they did exist and were the proudct of fallen angels with humans something that was not to take place but both humans and fallen angels didnt care and went ahead with their sexual affairs.

God decided to wipe it all out because it was chaotic and not his creation.

GOD DOES NOT ...EVER...MAKE MISTAKES...HUMANS DO AND TO QUESTION GOD AS YOU ARE IS RATHER DANGEROUS FOR YOUR SOUL.

MAYBE ASK YOURSELF IF SATAN IS NOT BEHIND YR MIND FEEDING YR GARBAGE TO ASK HERE SO THAT MORE TRASH FILLS UP YR MIND AND YOU CONCLUDE THAT GOD IS BAD AGAIN.

BEWARE THAT IS WHAT SATAN DOES TO PEOPLE. AS TRUE AS IT GETS.

  • Remember that belief in the bible is not compatible with rational thinking. Turning off your brain for believers is called faith. It's more comfortable than thinking because you always wind up with a nice cozy feeling unlike thinking about the real world which rarely leaves you feeling that way.

And which of the mistakes do you call Gods mistake? Give credit where credit is due. Mankind has a sinful nature. He repented for creating man.

Honey GOD doesn't make mistakes. He gave us free will to do right or wrong, good or evil. Trust GOD, not Noah.
