10 for $10.... must I buy 10?

You see these ads all the time in supermarket ads... buy 10 juice/potato chip/etc for $10.

What happens if I buy 9 or less, is it still $1 per or not?

Sometimes it depends on the store if you only buy 2 or 3 if it's still $1 per item. Usually yes it stays $1 a per item. No you don't have to buy all ten of the same product. Usually in stores that have 10 for $10 sales they have more than one product with that sale so you can mix and match the products. I hope this helped you.

That depends if it says you HAVE to buy 10 or not. Some places are buy 2 to get the discount, otherwise it's 1 for the regular price. Other places simply say buy 2 for $3, and that usually means you can just get 1 for $1.50.

You can always ask a store clerk.

Unless the store publishes other policies, they are under no obligation to offer the unit price equal to the price for a multiple purchase.

Example: Jack in the Box offers a regular taco for 79 cents. They have been on sale ar 2 for 99 cents. Taco Bell will not sell you a single taco for 50 cents. For one taco, the price is the full 79 cents.

As always, read the fine print on ads. If the fine print isn't there, expect to be charged regular price.

In most supermarkets it is understood that each item is a dollar. However, I think a lot of people always endup buying that 10 for $10 cause they aren't sure. Its good marketing by the stores.

This really depends upon the store and its policies - ask before you buy so you are not disappointed afterward. I really dislike stores that make you buy multiples to get the lower price. If the item is a dollar, sell one or ten for a dollar each!

It works even if you're not buying $10....you just have to use the Club Card so you get each item at a $1. I do this all the time, don't worry, it works :)

Depends on the law of the state in which you're in. Wisconsin, yes. Illinois, no. It's an evil trick perpetuated by evil retailers like Walgreen's. Just steal one or two and come out ahead every time.

It should be a dollar per each item. You don't have to buy ten items to get the deal. That's how the store sales here work.

You have to read the sign carefully. If it just says "10/$10", then you don't have to buy all ten. But if it says "10/$10" but then says "Or $1.49 ea", then you have to buy all 10 to get the special pricing.
