What's with the crazy names????

What with names that are different? Do you live on a street where all the houses and cars are the same? Look around...everyone is different. It's nice to have originality.

Frances...for a BOY! Sure, it's a family name and it probably was fine way back when, but times change. You don't see too many kids called "Dick" any more, do you?

Anything with "iesha" at the end of it, Croiesha, Darniesha, Buttiesha, whatever

In middle school, one kids name was Alpha. Yes, as in the Greek Alphabet. Another girl was called "Fe-Mal-Ay". It was spelled Female.

Knew a guy named Terry Perry and another guy named James Bond (and he hated being called James, he went by Jim)

I went to school with a Peaches and a girl named April May.

On here 2 that I've seen that i thought were silly were Pagan and Oshean. And my once neice is named Wynter.

People just want to have something different. What bothers me though are the stupid misspellings that people use thinking that they are cute.

OK - your update is just SAD.... Hopefully they at least call that child by her middle name...

I kind of like the names that are a little bit different. But - I think sometimes people try so hard to be different that they make the child suffer as he/she grows up. Other children can be very cruel!

My grandmother is a retired RN, and when she was doing her rotation on the OB ward (this was back in the 1960s) she had a lady name her daughter "Placentia". My grandmother tried to explain to this poor woman that if you remove the "i", you have "placenta", and proceeded to tell this woman what a placenta is. She didn't want to hear of it, and named her daughter anyway. So, assuming this lady is still alive and hasn't changed her name, somewhere in the country, there's a Placentia floating around. Can you imagine? My God...

Actualy, I find Zaliea to be a nice name. It's different.

I think that's what parents these days are looking for, originality.

this name isnt crazy but i found it amusing. megan-the normal spelling m-e-g-a-n right? well this girl that i met spells it meaghann. it was kinda like...do you want to add anymore letters to that? i find that people have lots of problems with irish names like roisin (roe-sheen) and aoife (ee-fa), but i think theyre cool. its all about originality, but i dont think ill ever name my kids some of those names, if i ever have any.
