Does having more than one favorite team make you less of a loyal fan?

There are some people who are actually fans of more than one team. Does that make them less loyal to their teams. What happens when both their teams play against eachother, who do they root for?

Personally, I am a fan of the game, not necessarily a specific team. I have teams that I don't care for much, and others that I like, but all in all, I just like to see a game where it's played the way it was meant to be played, no matter the sport.

I am a Redskins fan and a Panthers fan when it comes to football. I'm from NC and now I live in DC, so its hard but I have always been a Redskins fan since I could remember. The Panthers came around when I lived in NC and at this time the Skins were horrible, we had a bad decade to say the least. So I leaned towards the panthers when they were doing well.

I pull for Carolina, but I love the Skins. Since they are both in the NFC they will play each other, and a possibility of them meeting in the playoffs, and if this happens, I will pull for the skins.

I dont think that this makes me less loyal of a fan, I am a SKins Fan and always will be, but at the same time if the Panthers do well during the season, Im happy.

I have been a Viking fan since 69, I will always root for them. However, I live in Indy so the Vikes don't get on TV that much here. But I need to root for someone so of course, I'll root for the Colts. The organization has a lot of class so its not hard. However(again), when Minnesota plays the Colts, its the Vikings all the way!!

I'd have to say yes, it makes you less loyal. Why? Well, it'd definitely make you less loyal when two "favorite" teams play each other. You'd have to pick one over the other and in that case, one of the teams have lost some of your loyalty.
