can I paint a fabric lampshade a different color? and how??????
I have 2 lampshade with a plastic backing with linen material on them I want to gor from seafoam to a soouthwest stone color
do I mix the paint with water and or medium never did this before

Yes you can. You can use spray paint, or fabric paint to change the color. Be sure to tape off any parts you do not want over sprayed if you spray. I prefer the results from spraying over using the paint-on fabric paint at craft stores, however. You get a better finish, smoother look and it doesn't get dark streaks where you overlapp like the paint on variety does.

Yes, but you may darken the lampshade even if you go with a lighter color because you are adding a layer of paint- I have used spray paint, watercolor and fabric paint.
Another idea I have used is to glue a thin paper on the shade with a spray adhesive- Tissue paper works very well!

YIKES! You could save a LOT of time and pain in the butt by just buying new ones in another color. That's why you work.
Color changes on fabric are not an exact science unless you're a professional dyer. I also can just see the paint dripping down that plastic backing and getting on everything. Don't bother!
