Chrysler 2004 Sebring - Check Engine Light?
I have been getting "Check Engine" light since Jan 2006. So far I took my car 9 - 10 times for checkup. The following items were replaced.
Spark Plugs,
Fuel Injector
On-Board Computer - (Covered under warranty).
Sensor
Fuel line - cleanup.
Etc, Etc.
I spent over $ 800 so far for this problem. After 7 months, I am still getting this light. The diagnostics part says same thing " Cylender 3 - Misfire". Looking for any suggestions.
Thank you.
I have been taking my car to Chrysler dealer , all my work was done by them. :-)

First of all, I would go to another dealer, if at all possible. If the misfire is intermittent, which would be my guess, it can be difficult to find, but the dealer should be helping you with this. I would do both a static and especially a running compression test. This will show if the cylinder is firing on that cylinder efficiently. If the engine has a fair amount of mileage on it, it's very possible that a valve is carboned up and not seating properly. Also, a worn camshaft lobe could cause an intermittent misfire. A small coolant leak into the cylinder could cause a misfire. If the dealer hasn't done these things, that's what should be done next, IMHO. There is also the possibility there is a Technical Service Bulletin that may address the issue. Without having the car in front of me to test, the above tests are what I would advise doing. Good luck with your problem, HTH!!

ok for starters anytime you have a misfire code you need to replace the plugs and check the wires for carbon tracking which is a gray line up the inside of the plug end of the wire....if it is carbon tracked it will make the plug go bad within a few days and will continue to until the wire is replaced so if they havent been then do it other than that it would be a compression issue which those cars dont really have.

you could have a defective ignition coil did anyone check compression because you need it to fire the cylinder correctlyit could be a broken or breaking wire that connects the computer to the injector or ignition coil take it to another dealer with all of your receipts and let them look at it as a second opinion couldn't hurt at this point and if it is something the other dealer missed they should reimburse you for any additional costs due to their inability to fix the car

does your engine feel like it's missing? sound like it?
it really could be numerous things: timing, bad coil pack, bad injector, valves not operating correctly (stuck), bad spark plug, bad spark wire....all on that one cylinder area. for most of these things, one can purchase them, try them, and if it doesn't solve the problem, it can be returned. a complete listing of all that has been replaced would be helpful to me and others

could possibly be .; ignition coil controll circuit or spark interface circut;; or ; problem with the distributor synchronization circuit - you might check these out [ if it has a coil for each cylinder may be weak coil or bad connection, if the code was posted i maybe could tell more;
