desktop woes?

My Desktop Picture won't appear on my computer, I have changed the picture to see if that was the problem and I have been disapointed that it was not. I went into the desktop modifer in the control panel, the panel does nothing only changes the color of the blank screen over the picture. The Computer is a Windows XP.

well it sounds like you did a few troubleshooting steps, have you considered having a bad video card. I can recomend you start up your computer in safe mode by pressing on the F8 key on your keyboard before the windows logo comes up. once in safe mode go to the control panel and check out the video settings, your resolution may be set too high. I recomend 640X480 for starters. Good luck

Right click on your desktop. Select properties, click on desktop tab, on the bottom half should be a list of desktop pics. Choose one and it should appear in preveiw window. When you find the one you want click on the apply button on the bottom then ok. It should change your desktop.
