Should I go with my fiance or stay at my job?

My fiance is going to move to another state. We had planned to go together, but the position I was hoping to get fell through. Now if I leave, I'll be leaving a good paying job. He insists that he'll help me out. But, honestly, I'm making more money now than he'll be making where he's going. I can't see how he'll be able to support the both of us. It'll mean I'll have to start looking for employment once I get there and I don't know how long that'll leave me with income. But, I have a JD and a masters degree. It shouldn't be that hard, right? So, I need to decide very soon. Any advice?

Stay where you are for a bit until he gets settled in the new state. Continue looking hard for a job in the new state while you keep working where you are. Unless you are getting married this month I can't see why you can't be apart for a little bit. Don't sweat it, it will all work out.

You could keep your job that you have now and in the meantime apply for employment in the other state. Once you find a job that is comparable to what you have now, then move. This way you both will be financially better off and not have to struggle if you moved first. The only other option is go ahead and move and if you feel confident enough that you won't have a problem getting a good job........go ahead and move.

Well its apparent that you dont want to leave, but does he really want to leave? Let him know that financally its easier if you two stay where you are. Because hes your fiance im guessing that you two are in love, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. Is it a nessity that he leave? Why cant he stay? Ask him these questions. Tell him how intent you are on staying here. Personally id stay where the money is, but its up to you two to make the final desicion-together.

    hope it helps
