If the Bible is so useful?

If the Holy Book is so good, why does it lose Jeasus for a period of about 20 years? What happened in this missing time, there are many theories and some are true and some false, some just silly. I have researched it for many years trying to figure out this puzzle. What are your thoughts though?

I will post my findings and thoughts in a few minutes, but I'm looking for alternate veiw points and please if you have evidence put links or book name here, I'd like to research this further.

Update:

I should smack ya Ron it's a metaphorical lost, I mean there are no stories of Jesus going through puberty is there, you see him as a young boy them poof 30 y/o man

Update 2:

Ok, ladies and Gentlemen here it is:

It is true the Jesus played the role of a model Jew knowing nothing of his place. He grew up and apprentaced with his father as a CUSTOM carpenter (not a poor one, a rich one) Jesus also Married (daughter of a powerful man). I'm still not sure of the whole they had a kid thing, but I have discovered that all proper Jews got married by 18 (If jesus played his part as all christians say, he would have gotten married) He was baptised, and suddenly there was a voice in his head (Gods' voice) he grew very unsure, and upon discussing this matter, went on a pilgrimage (common to jews when they lose faith, remember 40 years in the desserrt). While on this pilgrimage Jesus came upon a Buddhist temple (Buddhist texts talk of him). He settled and meditated for several years. learned the techings of Buddha. He acheived enlightenment and through a nirvana conversation with god, he discovered his calling, came home and begain preaching god's word. (My theory)

The holy book was written by people...Not God..Not Jesus.

Select people read the available material and decided what to publish.. Some call their book the catholic bible and published 4 extra books. Other bibles.. like the king James version was published by others..it has less books. Moses wrote the first few books, and he wasn't born for 400 years after the happenings he wrote about. He was inspired by God. according to scripture.. There is lots more material available. Just hasn't been published..

The New Testament isn't a biography. Parts of Jesus life that weren't necessary for the story weren't recorded. In all likelihood, He spent the years after His childhood visit to Jerusalem as a normal Jew in Galilee, working as a carpenter with His earthly father Joseph. Then at 30, He took up His ministry to complete the prophecy of his 3and 1/2 year teaching before being cut off.

You have to realize that the first 4 gospels that tell of Jesus' life here on earth are from the perspective of being with Jesus. I am sure that if they were with or around Jesus during his youth it may have been recorded in the bible if it was relevant to our belief to know of this. Jesus was recorded in the bible at the age of 12 after his birth. He seperated from his parents in Jersulaem to stay and do his fathers work. He died and left the earth at the age of 33. What is the possiblity that all that time he was here on earth doing miracles is not the missing 20yrs you are looking for? Jesus' age is not defined in the book, but that may not mean that it is missing.

Books describing Jesus' childhood were omitted from the NT. James was his brother, so there was a good source for information about Yeshua ben Yosef. But then again Paul actually either edited or wrote the New Testament, so perhaps Paul was reluctant to fictionalize his childhood the same manner he fictionalized his ministry.

Since Jesus didn't start His ministry until He was 30 years old, He was probably working as a full time carpenter and studying the old testament in His spare time.

I hear this complaint from others that are antagonistic of the completeness or relevance of the Bible.

The New Testament is not an biography of Jesus, or a set of rules to live by... or whatever else you dream up that YOU think the Bible should be.

It's a testimonial of what Jesus did, his credentials, and the relevance of all that to salvation of each of us and salvation of all mankind.

i dont know where you are speaking of, but it smacks of another 'da vinci code' type of research.

i can write any number of books and say that they are divine. the difference is that we were told that the writings were on gold leaf plate and they were.

we were told the bible spoke of specific people. and by other historical documents we find that it did.

we were told the bible talks of Jesus, His birth, His teachings, His life and His death. and with other historical documents, we find that the person of Jesus DID exist, lived and died in the manner spoken of in the bible.

if you are speaking of when Jesus was a pre-teen until the age of adult, the perhaps He was just like most other human children, and was rather inoccuous or boring during His early teens.

remember, He was in human form.

I think it's pretty simple. That information was not needed for us to know in order to follow Christ. We needed to know that He was born of a virgin and a few other early childhood events in order to confirm prophecy. However, since no prophecies were evidently fulfilled in those years, there is nothing of consequence.

I am looking forward to knowing though when I get to Heaven. Just a natural human trait to be curious.

It was a huge conspiracy that he was making and harbouring illegal WMDs in the middle east and was afraid that the natives on the north american continent would launch a pre-emptive strike looking for it.

Who cares? The whole book is a giant fairy tale anyways, so you just go and make up your own stuff like I just did.
