What would be a lap-top best buy and where could I get it? In the continental U.S.A.?

It depends on what you want to use it for. Macs are good for videos and homework. Dell PCs are good for about the same, and internet, but they're also easier to use as far as interfacing goes. But that's a personal opinion. Basically it boils down to personal preference. Mac, PC, or Linux. Go to Dell.com and check out what they have, and do the same for macintosh and decide. Online buys are good. Try Amazon.com, they're all Secured links so you won't get ripped off.

I would actually avoid dell if you're on the market for a laptop. Their units tend to be flimsy. Sink a few extra bucks into the purchase price and get a thinkpad. They're substantially more durable.

I dont know computers, I`ve an old computer with windows millenium , jajaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Im glad because it works yet.
