Should this cat be let back into England?
Pardon my copy & paste:
EXILED preacher of hate Omar Bakri has begged the Royal Navy to rescue him from war-torn Beirut.
The Muslim cleric who fled Britain last year, tried to board a ship full of women and children yesterday but was turned away.
He also wrote to the British embassy asking to be allowed back on “humanitarian grounds”.
In an email to officials, dole scrounger Bakri pleaded: “The current situation in Beirut left me without any choice but to appeal to you to grant me a visit visa to see my children for one month.”
HA!
Seems the big bad terrorist is afraid of all the loud things going boom all around him & he wants out. Pooooooooor baby!
Should he be allowed to return?

Firstly, dear Cheeky, please stop pasting your standard answer, as it kills the whole point of YA, no matter how well researched.
Secondly, there is no should. The UK rescue effort is 100% PR. The state machine cares no more about British subjects than it does about Lebanese people. But it requires British subjects to feel protected. Letting a nutter like OB walk right into the party would be a PR disaster, if not illegal.
Thirdly, we may all enjoy a good public lynching, but that's really what the civilized mind is trying to get away from. Fair trials protect the innocent (thats you and me); media verdicts do exacly the opposite.
Peace and love to all (except men who blow up children)

It would be convienant for him to have an 'unfortunate accident' while trying to board the boat. His remains could be sent to his family in safety.
