Is Dashboard Confessional a emo band? Please only answer if you have a serious, educated opinion.?

Emo doesnt not stand for Emotional. Emo stands for emotionally charged hardcore punk which was a genre around the 80's. There are a very few emo bands today. rock that you hear on tv is not emo. Emo is not a fashion statement, the kids that people usually call emo are called and should be called "scene".

They say they are emo. And I agree. But I think they give a bad name to emo bands. They are all whiny. And thats not all what emo is about. There are some really good emo bands out there and Dashboard Conffessional just sort of makes it seem like emo is really bad. But I like to think of them as pop rock....

they r emo but thats not a bad thing that just means they have had a hard time coming they can get kinda mushy for my taste but they have great feeling behind all their emo lyrics :)
