  • How is e-mai being sent from an account that doesn't exist?

I closed an e-mail account about 3 months ago, but my dad has received 2 e-mail saying they are from that account. They are clearly a spam type of message. Is someone faking the "from" e-mail address or are they actually sending through that account?

    Thanks

  • Do beavers live at 12,000 ft of elevation?

I was recently at a lake in the Rocky Mountains and we saw to things swimming in the lake. They looked like beavers but I could never get close enough to get a real good look. There was a a little head sticking out of the water and then a body underswater behind it. Definitely not a snake. I didn't see any beaver damns, but one did smack the water and then go underwater for about 5 seconds. Unfortunately I wasn't looking at that exact moment so I could see if it was a tail that made the splash or what. I'm just curious as to what they might have been because I would have expected to see beavers at that high of elevation.

  • How do I keep my dog's urine from killing the grass?

My dog is 7.5 years old. 1 year ago we moved out west and this is the first house we've had where she kills the grass. Back east (first 6.5 years of her life) she made the grass grow better where she went. What's up? I'm guessing it's a different type of grass, but I have don't know what type of grass we have here or what we had back east.

  • Information on Fender Acoustic Guitar?

Today I met a man with a Fender Acoustic guitar. I think it said "Stratocaster" on it, but I know that's their electric guitar. He said it was built between 1961-64 and he knew this because it was the "broomstick" built inside it to support it. It was in good condition (but I say that having zero experience in grading old guitars) with a serial number of 0053x. As soon as I saw it, I had to ask him about it.. it was pretty neat. I'm just looking for some information on it. Is the broomstick make it collectable? What's the actual model name of it? How many of this type were made? Sorry, no pictures!

  • Can flies "clean" up something as they eat?

I just got a used tent. I pulled it out of the bag and it smelled like cat urine. So I decided to do a throrough cleaning inside and out. Mopped, soaked, and sprayed it off. I put it out to dry and I noticed that flies were swarming around the part where I actually saw a little dried cat urine. I decided to not do anything about it, thinking it might be eating the leftover protiens (or whatever makes cat pee stink so badly). Now at the end of the day, there is noticeably less odor. Could it be because the flies were getting rid of the matter left behind by the urine? I even rototated the tent at one point and the flies followed their spot.

  • Where can I go to find parts for a hobie cat sail boat?

My dad (who knows a lot more about sailing than i do.. I really don't know anything) was given a 20' hobie cat sailboat. I don't know know if that is just the type or name brand.. Things like missing the sail, no riggings, trailer tires need to be replaced, etc. Where is a good place for him online to look for these parts? I am mainly interested in parts for the boat. The trailer parts we can get here.

  • What could my dog have been chasing in my back yard tonight?

I have a fenced in back yard (with a few places a 10-15lb animal could get through). Currently my grass/weeds are very over grown, so I couldn't get a good view of the animal. I live in a community that is basically in the woods. When I let my dog out to use the bathroom, she started chasing an animal. It was lighter in color and it seemed to have a slender but firm tail. I'm guessing weight to be 5-8lbs. My first thought was a rabbit, but this was too slow. Definitely bigger than a squirrel. Too fast and light to be a groundhog. My dog (65lbs) could run faster, but couldn't turn as quickly. They ran around for about 20 seconds before the animal escaped through one of the small holes. It apparently knew that hole was there because the very first thing it ran for was that hole, but it missed and ended up making another circle before finding it.

My dog caught up with it a time or 2, but I don't know if she bit it or scratched it. I have seen groundhogs, deer, rabbits, squirrels and even a bobcat around here, but that's about it.

Didn't hear any hissing or growling during the chase. As far as I can tell, my dog was not hurt or scratched.

I would guess an opossum, but it didn't do the whole playing dead or make hissing noises. Any other ideas? Oh, I live in Arkansas by the Ozark Mountains.

  • Is there anywhere I can download a trail/student version of Visual Basic 6?

I really can't pay for it as I am currently laid off. I was wanting to kill some time and see what I still remember from my college classes.

  • I have a 2000 GMC jimmy that won't shift into 4wd when it's cold. What will it take to fix this?

If I shift into 4wd when it's warmer in the middle of the day and park it, it will still be en 4wd (and working) in the cold morning.

  • Burris Fullfield II 4.5x14x42mm??

Has anyone used this scope? I am considering putting it on my .30-06 since my last scope appartently has crapped out.

    I most interested in knowing:

    1) reliable?

    2) are the crosshairs fine enough for long distance shooting, say up to 600 yds?

    3) how well does the ballistic plex work?

I also wouldn't mind any other recommendations for a scope that has about 14x power and approximately 42 or 44mm lense for around $350. I know I can get a 12x Leupold at Wally's World for about $300 plus tax, but have heard their lower end scopes haven't been as reliable as they used to be. Can anyone confirm? Thanks,

  • trying to hook computer up to 52" widescreen?

have a 6600GT card and I am trying to hook it up to a Panasonic 52" LCD projection tv (PT-52LCX66). I have the latest drivers for my video card.

I am currently trying to use the VGA connection. The output is smaller than the screen and it is very, very off-centered. It would need to be lowered a lot and then pushed to the right to be centered in the tv.

When watching tv, the whole screen is filled, right up to the plasitc screen. Even when you are just booting up, the POST screen fits the screen like it shoot. As soon as it gets to loading Windows, things go wrong.

The resolution of the tv is 1280x720. I put it at that resolution and there is black all the way around the picture. The bottom has the most space. I went through the tv's built in picture adjustments, but I couldn't lower it far enough, and no where could I make it bigger to take the whole screen. I'm thinking it's some type of setting in my software.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Wy wife has rotated ribs? Is there any way to fix this?

When she was in high school, she would go to a specialist who would pop them back into place. They would be normal for about 4-6 months (and they didn't hurt during that time) and then kind of work themselves back out. Now that she is older, they said it is a bad idea to keep trying this because the ribs might get broken. Her back is constantly sore.

Does anyone know of any treatments available for this? None (evidentally) were available at the time
