i would get a civic si if you can get it better fuel economy than integra more horse power and probably last longer too.
since i had an integra rs and broke down too much even the door handle fell off so yes pick the si you will have lots of fun and save gas in the process.
integra has 172 horses civis si has almost 200 but at the end the choice is yours it depends on how you drive and what you like to do w/ them but i would get the SI!

The Integra would be my choice! I've owned a 1999 Integra GS/R and it was easily the best car I've ever owned... liked it so much my son bought the '98 GS and he loves his too.
The GSR comes with a VTEC engine but the Civic Si might not... check it out. This feature alone, would make the Integra stand out above the Civic.
Another reason for the Integra is that Honda is Acura but Acura is reserved for the more refined, more expensive of the line. An Acura will hold more value than the Civic in the long run.
Another reason would be in sheer numbers... the Civic is a cheaper vehicle to own and so you find many, in fact tons, of them on the road... the Integra, though very popular, isn't seen in as vast quantity out there. I like owning something a bit more unique.
The last thing that would cause me to choose the Integra over the Civic is in the styling... I simply adore the body lines and the projector headlights of the Integra and the way the spoiler works with the car. The leather interior of the GS/R is superb too.
Both cars get thumbs up for being easy to work on and, coupled with your owners manual from www.helminc.com, you should find decades of service from either.
Yep, my choice is the Integra GS/R... Type R if you can get it.
Good luck!

Well I wouldn't get either but if I had to choose get the Integra because there is to many civics out there I mean you can barley turn your head with out seeing one do you really want something that EVERY one has. I Borrowed my brother in-laws civic once to go shopping because mine was broken and I hadn't finished fixing it when I came I couldn't remember exactly where I had parked it but I knew the general area and well there were 3 the exact same color in the area if he didn't have a car alarm I could use to find it by hitting the panic button I would of had to try each one go with the integra

What year civic and is it a r type civic si? The integra gsr would be my pick unless your getting the civic si hatchback unless your get the 2000 gsr or something? I mean the gsr kicks out 172 stock while the only civic si that kicks out more is the 2006 model which is nearing 200hp! The civic si-r has some kick and would my pick over the gsr just cuz noone has it!

The integra GSR is fast but it wont give the mpg like the CIVIC Si, plus it depend on what year Si your talking about. I would rather go with the 2006 Civic Si with 197 hp.

Which generation Si to which GS-R are you comparing? I personally have a '92 GS-R and it's going on 204K miles without an engine or transmission problem. The clutch finally went around 178K and only cost $500 to replace the plate (excellent !!!).
Mechanically, you can find mechanical similarity between the two, depending on which generation you're comparing, but year for year, the GS-R was always more powerful than the Si. Prior to 2006, the Civic Si, only topped out at around 170hp or so (current is 197hp). The RSX-S still has around 205 hp or so.
If you want to drive a 'luxury' sports car, then of course GS-R, but if you're just wanting to have a fun car to drive and low maintenance (cost) then Si.
