Why are movie concessions SO expensive?

The first answer is right. All money you make at the ticket counter goes to the movie's producers profits and some of it goes to the building and bills. ALL concession sales go to the employees who are serving you and the management staff, as well as the suppliers of the candy. Remember, you have to pay for your supplies too. Paper for cups and popcorn are EXTREMELY expensive, all paper with coating and printing is.

Eat before you go to the movie or sneak in your DOTS and the price of concessions no longer are a concern. I've snuck in a loaf of bread, a twelve pack of soda, summer sausage and mustard to a movie once when I was 16. My friend and I could only use our right hands because the left one in our jacket was holding up all the contraband. As I was paying the soda shifted and made a sound so loud I thought the whole Mall heard it. I grabbed the ticket and ran into the theater. As I entered the theater all the stuff fell out. Lucky we were the first ones in and not busted, but we forgot the potato chips.

They make no money on ticket sales. Just concessions.

Because if they raise the price of the movie ticket, less people will come...but the price of the food didnt stop you from going to see a movie.

Because you have no other choice of where to buy food from in the theatre, and they can get away with it.

That's what's why it's good if you have a woman with a really big purse. You can sneak all your eats in.
