Would you be happy to receive advice on how to care for your baby's teeth?

From a professional as part of your maternity care. Extra comments welcome.

Update:

I'm at Uni upgrading my Dental degree and I am doing an assignment where I have to write a proposal for improving the oral health of mothers and their infants and I am after thoughts from mothers and how they feel about this issue. I am not after advice for my own children as my kids are no longer infants. I appreciate all input!!!! Keep it coming.

Well I know that I turned to Answers for a question about my daughters teeth and it worked out great everyone was very polite about it, as far as a professional give it before the child is here they shouldn't be concerning them selves with a child's teeth that won't be out for a few months but if you are exhibiting bad oral hygiene your self and I am not saying that you do that could be cause for the advice on the teeth but really like I said unless you are doing something wrong before hand there should be know reason for this Dr should be concerned with teeth of and unborn child

Yes. I think this is a much neglected area when classes and advice are given. I actually just called my 11 year old's pediatric dentist to ask about my 7 month old. She just got a tooth and I had no idea if I should brush it with gauze and toothpaste and did I need to make a dental checkup, etc. I could have used the answers before or right after I gave birth.

YES, I think it would be wonderful if all Mothers recieved advice on baby teeth care before the teeth come in.

i think it would be a good idea to tell everyone just in case they don't know like i knew how but that don't mean that everyone does i already know but i would still listen just in case there is something i forgot or just might not know
