There isn't one. If you want to play any musical instrument properly you have to have good coordination, a little maths knowledge, good timing, (even for the tambourine!) cant be tone deaf (lol), have a good memory, be dedicated and be able to practise at least 2 hours every day. If your just messing about, a keyboard with all the pre set buttons is your best bet to have fun with, otherwise it's hard slog!

The Appalachian Dulcimer, (Mountain Dulcimer) is very easy to play. It only consists of 3 strings, and two of those are tuned to the same pitch (D) Really good for playing Folk, Bluegrass or Joni Mitchel songs. A cheap one will cost less then £100.

Drums easy?!?...Not many people realize that the drums are one of the few istruments that require the player to use both sides of the brain and all four extremities at the same time to do totally different things, often in different rhythms and syncopations. Granted, one does not have to remember finger positions as with bass or guitar, but the drums, properly played are FAR from easy!

Depends what you really want to do, its no point trying to learn an instrument just cos its easy, you will lose interest.

If you fancy yourself as slash from guns n roses, go for the guitar.

if you fancy yourself as richard clayderman, go for the piano.

What do you really want to be able to play?

Honestly, dont try something just cos its easy, pick what will make u happy.

i'd start with the bass. drums are easier, but you cant really write a song on the drums because they are just rhythm. At least if you learn bass, you can learn basic progressions, notes, etc. without the difficulty of piano or guitar.

That depends on you really and how your brain works. The easiest is the recorder but i'd choose the guitar probably.

    The Kazoo.

Who said the spoons? only an enlightened master could handle the sheer force of the spoons.

Probably a recorder. They teach it a lot in English primary schools.
