You are cracking me up here. Yes you can go into business with a foreign national legally...no problem at all. No you can't marry a gorgeous foreigner for profit legally. (ugly ones...not sure.) ;-) No other options for exploitation come to mind.

I don't know what the street value of a British Passport is, but I know when my passport was stolen, I was told US passports were going for 1000s of dollars. That was back in 1997. I don't know what they are worth now. They may be worth nothing now that there are more safeguards attached to them. Regardless, I think any European passport or Canadian passport is worth as much as a US passport. Australian and New Zealand passports less so simply because you cannot easily enter a third country with them, as you can in Europe or North America which shares a land border with another/other country/s.

Sure there is a way but it is illegal. Many years ago I was living overseas and met a guy who offered me 5 thousand dollars for my passport. Needless to say I said no. The value on the street is probably between 5 and 10 k. But don't even think about selling it because it is a big crime. Another way people exploit their passport is through marriages of convenience. Even more years ago I was offered 3 k to marry a woman in order for her to stay in the country. I turned that one down as well. This is also wrong but I am not sure if its illegal or not.

If you want to go to jail and have all your rights to future passports revoked. I had three passports stolen within two years. (The first I actually lost when I left my purse on a train, the second was stolen from my room, and the third was pickpocketed when I took it out of the safe the one time a year I had to go to the Foreign Police to get a stamp in it.) They almost didn't give me the fourth.

Actually yes, my son just went to France for two weeks. They told him to keep his passport in a hidden belt of something...because they are the number one hot item on theives and pickpockets lists. The US passport can be altered to get someone into the country.

So, if you have one, and you're travelling, keep it hidden on you, or locked in a safe at your hotel. You can't get back into the US without it, unless you go thru what could possibly be weeks of red tape and paperwork thru the local embassy.

Obviously, yes. Why would you want to know this? Are you thinking of opening up a new business selling stolen and altered passports?
