LOL of course not, they have 15 years of life experience, 5 of which they only remember bits and pieces of. They have never had to pay the bills or worry about real life or real issues, to them their youthful issues feel very real and high school is a pain in the butt to them though its the whole world and they have no clue that the moment they walk out the doors it no longer has any meaning whatsoever. Its kind of like thinking you can navigate the Pacific because you have the local pond down pat. They just have no idea how big and complicated the world really is so they have no comprehension of what they don't know. An adult realizes that there are about a zillion things that they have no grasp of or control over, thats the difference. If its causing a real problem there are things that can be done about it, shock them in to realizing how little they actually know. Of course disrespect is absolutely not tolerated but to solve the putting them in their place problem i would sit them down with a list of bills that need to be paid (it could be fictional but realistic) now say this is the money you have to pay them with, figure out how to do it, then make a few obstacles, for example 3 days from payday you get a flat tire, you need a new one, you don't have the money until payday but you must get to work for 3 more days before that happens, create real life situations, they will sit there dumbfounded and have no idea how to get out of it. Then you simply say see you don't know everything do you? It worked like a charm for my teenagers. Suddenly I was viewed as some mystic who had all the answers and they came to me for them, they even sent their friends to me because I was so smart!

when I was 15 I thought I knew everything. Now when I look back I can see what a dumb thing I did, or said, etc. But what really gets me is when I hear these teens or preteens say how much in love they are and they really haven't got a clue.

I'm 15, and i know 4 a fact that I NEVER assume I know everything. People that do piss me off soo bad. We're still teenagers, and need to respect and listen to our elders.

I hardly think so. I know senior citizens that don't know everything. Life is made up of experiences, and at age 15, they have no idea what is going on. They are raging hormones with legs.

Oh my gosh!! I have one of those!! I always say I wish I knew now what I knew when I was a teenager!! lol They don't know everything!! It's funny to think about how much thought I knew as a teenager, then think about what I actually know now!!

Absolutely not. After all, the saying was made true for a reason: when people "assume" something it makes an "***" out of "u" .

15 year olds don't know everything!!! they think they know everything but they don't because they only know half of the world .

No they just think they do! I know I thought I knew everything at that age and well...I knew nothing really! It's just one of those teenage things I guess.
