Why do cars keep right when driving in expressway and they still drive so slow that causes traffic jam?

my personal view is that you can categorize this kind of people into three species,

species 1, day dreamer; this group of driver is either having day dream or too focus till they are not aware themselve are blocking people's way.

species 2, road gangster; they don't care about other's feeling whereby and they purposely enjoy blocking people's way.

species 3, angel; purposely drive slow to let other know they are speeding and wanna them drive slowly and safetly.

They are all Michael Schmacher wannabes. They think they are driving fast. When they come to a speed camera they slow down and because they don't know what the speed limit is they go even slower. These people are always the ones that needs to take the next exit hence they drive slow, so you see them cutting across the 3 lanes - scary buggers!

In a way its safer to drive on the right too. On the left and middle lanes there are the lorries and the vans which have 60kph stickers on the back but go at 80kph. Cars entrying the expressway from the left expect cars to give way to them to allow them in. They think it's their right and they don't even bother checking to see if it is safe for them to join the expressway. So a lot of near misses in the left lane.

Because everyone has the mentality that the most right lane is the fastest. So everybody switches to the right. Naturally with so any cars on that lane, the average driver will need to slow down.

And of course there are just some inconsiderate drivers who wants to avoid the slower lanes but are not bothered to drive fast themselves. Thus it slows down other drivers.

I'm not sure where you live , rules may vary by location , in my state of Ohio the slower cars should remain in right lane and the left lane is reserved for passing unless otherwise designated. Some of the problem mentioned I think are caused by older drivers who slow down to compensate for slower reaction times and thinking ability (no offense intended for older folks). Some because they are distracted by using cell phones and worse are impaired drivers who may be drunk or stoned .

Most people feel entitled to whatever they are doing.

It is the sad state of affairs that most do not consider anyone beyond themselves to be as important/valuable as themselves, which leads to this behavior. Just like in New England when drivers attempting to pull out of a parking lot will block an entire lane of traffic until a spot opens up in their desired lane.

Uhhh not in the U.S. Don't know where your from but if you drive slow in the left lane, you're going to see a birdie.

before each and every thing do not generalize. I force a mini-van and that i have a lead foot. i'm frequently the single passing everyone. i do not imagine it concerns what human beings force, some human beings purely force sluggish. besides the undeniable fact that, many those who have minivans have toddlers on board, so it is extra significant to force extra carefully with them contained in the van. I force a mini van and function toddlers yet I surely force extra ideal with them in it. (no longer less than the reduce though)

I believe it a huge faileure on the part of the DMV. They should not give these idiots a license. Hooray road rage!!

its a law in most states.. stay right pass left. i also suggest taking some more better english classes.

are you referring to cars driving at the speed limit? they have every right to comply with the law.
