What goes with what?
I got given two lovely bed sets for wedding presents, one in chocolate and one in lilac. We're decorating our bedroom and want to use them both but apart from cream/white walls is there any other colour we can use??

Yes, a sap or olive green walls... even a Grey beige wall. you can mix and match the lilac and chocolate brown, brown is a neutral, lilac and the sap green is a color. You can even theme base it with an orchid plant... lilac/purple for the flower... sap /olive (Grey green even) the leaves and chocolate brown the stems.
You can bring out a zen look if you highlight that room with a couple of black/dark chocolate brown pieces!
Good luck!

I would think the chocolate is easier to match than the lilac, so design around the lilac. Chances are good the chocolate will work with whatever you do.

Chocolate milkshake is a nice colour by delux, usually any paint shop will mix up the colour for you. It will go nicely with the chocolate bedspread, and its also light enough (i.e wont clash) for when you want to enjoy using the lilac one.

If you paint the walls a light lilac wouldn't that match the chocolate set too? I think so. A soft buttery yellow may work with both sets too. Congrats. on your marriage.

What if you took the lighter shades of the lilac and chocolate and used those? Make it the theme color for the room.
Gold accents might be nice as well.

Try a very pale green color. The subtlety of it will bring out the lilac and mesh very well with the chocolate brown.

I was going to suggest red but that would look awful with lilac, so what about a sage or jade green (lighter versions). Or pale apricot. Blue's ok but it'll make the lilac more cold.

You got a lot of good suggestions! I, too, would go with something from the green family of colors. What a nice contrast to help develope your color scheme.. Accent with Lilac, pinks, or even gold. Good Luck!

Go with green, a light green, pastel green will go with both chocolate brown and lilac purple...
here go to the Behr Paint website and match up your purple and brown colors and then add a green, you will see all 3 colors go perfectly together!
