my roomie went to an A's game the other night and one of his friends got arrested for trying to start the wave, apparently it was announced before the game not to do it. when did this get banned? but more important, WHY is this illegal?
i didn't believe it either, i called him after i read your responses, and he stood by it. it was a girl that they arrested...i wonder if that had some petty thing to do with it. i got arrested once when i was 18, when i was being released the cop asked for my phone #...

I am in regular attendance of A's games, and people DO NOT get arrested for starting the wave. I have even started a few waves at some games. I think your roomie was just feeding you a fake story or he was just making a joke. If it was illegal in one park, it would be illegal in all parks, and it's not at every single park i've been too.

I doubt that really happened. People do the wave at Shea Stadium all the time and nothing happens. Not me, I hate the wave and I think its stupid, but nontheless, its not illegal.
