Can anyone suggest a romantic weekend getaway?
Preferably self catering with a private hot tub! Also ideally within 3 hours drive of London and with availability for a weekend in August (Not too many demands hey?!)...........

I was going to suggest a place in the Cotswolds too, but it's not self-cater and it doesn't have a hot tub. LOL It's a fabulous get away though. The place is called the Colesbourne Inn. I can't really say what it would be like in August though. We've been there for a weekend getaway twice, and both times were October/November. It was quiet and romantic, but in the middle of summer it might be crowded.
Why don't you have a look here though: http://www.cottages4you.co.uk/c4y_homepage.html
It's completely searchable, so you should be able to find something.

I am a Pacific Grove native, so while it's just "going home" to me when I visit the folks, the Monterey Peninsula is a great location for a romantic weekend getaway. It's 1.5 hours from San Jose (2.5 from SF). Lots of B&Bs in Pacific Grove. Beautiful coastline. Hotels in Historic Monterey are less expensive than New Monterey, Pacific Grove, or Carmel. Carmel is very touristy, but if that's what you're looking for, it's great.

Depends if you want countryside, city or seaside. There are loads of really nice places in Hampshire. I would personally recommend the New Forest for country pubs and nice walks.
If you want a private hot tub, probably going to have to rent a cottage. There are loads of websites for this and you can specify what you want so might find something.

no sorry. but have a nice time. the partner is the most important thing. you could go to Paris with Mr wrong and have a crap time, whereas a walk in the park with Mr. Right would be great. enjoy youself.
