Does Atheist hate all beliefs in anything or do they only hate Christians?

Update:

Don't get offended.... I really don't know and that's why I am asking the question.

Update 2:

okay... I apologize for the word "hate", I can see now that it is a word that is much to strong for me to use.... I should have used words like "disapprove" or "dislike".

All people are different. There are Christians who hate anyone who is not a Christian... and yet, there are other Christians who don't hate at all. I'm sure it's the same with Atheists.

maybe I can help. please undersand though that I speak for myself and myself only and cannot speak for atheists in general.

I would consider myself atheist. and I do sometimes find myself leaning towards hating christians. I think this is because I was raised in a christian ethic. And I resent that I was expected to not think for myself but to beleive in God. But I also understand that christianity can be a wonderful thing for many people. I guess what really gets my goat is when I am a nice guy to someone and then they say "oh you're a good christian" as if being Christian has anything to do with being a good person. (see the parable of the good samaritan,)

The other thing that gets to me is the whole "judge not lest yea be judged yourself" now dont get me wrong, I am Judgemental, I make judgements every day, about people, about situations about everything. But I try to make an informed Judgement. That means to try and understand a person before you Judge them.

I also beleive in living by your OWN morals. find out what is important to you and live by that ethic. now If you beleive that stealing is ok well fine. go steal something but also understand that by societies laws and morals this is unacceptable.

I guess to answer your question as matter of factly and concisely as possible.

By definition do Atheists hate Christians? No. but one cannot define everyone in a group.

When I feel those angry hate christian vibes coming on I try to rationalize why I feel that way and I find that my anger has no basis.

I think your question is to general, to answer what I think you may be asking, Do SOME atheists hate Christians? yes. Do some Christians hate Atheists? yes.

and also I dont think atheists HATE all beleifs in anything, they most likely find that aethism is better suited for them Just as you might find Christianity better suited for you. (or whatever your beleif system is.)

I hope I havent muddied the waters too much.

I don't hate all religions or religious people, and I guess I have my own beliefs but I don't even remotely consider myself an agnostic, I am not someone who is sitting on the sidelines, I would like to believe that aliens exist and that the true creators of life on this planet or bringers of life to this planet are aliens, I see a lot of things that don't make sense to me as such the creation of the pyramids when supposedly we don't have the technology to duplicate these kinds of structures in this day and age and it just leads me to believe one thing, that aliens helped shape our history, anyways, there are lots of things I believe in and or want to believe in, I don't hate very many people for the simple fact that hate is a pretty strong word and life is to short to be spent feeling angry like that all the time, I do however seriously dislike religious people who claim god as their Savior and seem to be so self righteous in their beliefs, and they will be the ones that come up to me and say I am going to go to hell, I honestly don't think I have ever said that to anyone in my life, and to me that seems just pretty damn rude, thought that was your gods job to judge, anyways I also hate it when I see people say everybody believes in god and if they say they don't they are just lying, I have seen and heard people say this before and it just amazes me at the audacity of some people, I have had people tell me they have read the bible 7 times through and I chirp up that I am an atheist and they have threatened to kick my a*s,I am a pacifist also by the way, I don't believe violence solves a damn thing and I am pretty sure I am right too, anyways, you and the rest of the world does not know what is in my heart and in my head, so to you, thank you for asking this question, I hope I gave you some worthwhile feedback on things

Is this a session of self-analysis?

Why don't you get really brave and ask God what He thinks of you?

"Heart" was found 170 times in 162 verses in the New Testament.

Matthew 5:8 - Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Matthew 5:28 - But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Matthew 6:21 - For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 9:4 - And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

Matthew 11:29 - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 12:34 - O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Matthew 12:35 - A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Matthew 12:40 - For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 13:15 - For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Matthew 13:19 - When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

    You get the idea.

I am agnostic...while I do not overtly believe in religious doctrine, I do not overtly discount the possible existence of some kind of uberbeing...mostly because I have no evidence one way or another. I cannot follow a religious doctrine, I do not hate any religion, I just choose not to follow them. When did we get this "if you're not with me, then you're against me" attitude? It's terrible! "If you don't believe in what I believe in, then you must be the enemy and you must hate me!" Nothing could be farther from the truth. The world is shades of gray, not black and white, and that is one reason I cannot follow religious doctrine.

I don't know about the hate part, but they sure are defensive.

The few I talked to face to face, was really defensive. They let me know real quick that "you're not converting me mister".

Of course, it's our Christian duty to try, but when it isn't going anywhere, than Christ said we are to 'shake the dust off our feet'.

You can find how Christ views those that reject his teachings at Matt 10:11-24

Here is verses 14 and 15

    Matthew 10:14-15 (New International Version)

14If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. 15I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.

    - Atheists consider that all religions are fake. Only few of them feel "hatred".

    - Non- theists aren't involved in any religion and don't even have an opinion about religions (they just don't care about religions).

    - Of course, Atheists have their own "beliefs": most of them believe that all religions are fake.

    - Most Atheists simply believe in Life, without any religious influence.

    - Don't mistake "Atheist" and "anti-Christian".

There are many religious believers among anti-Christians...

Source(s): I dare to speak on behalf of all Atheists...

that's an excellent question...at least on this site, almost all the atheist rants are against Christians-Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Wiccans, etc... all seem to get a 'pass'...maybe a lot of the folks CALLING themselves 'atheists' are posing...and are just 'anti-Christian'
