Sergio Mora- Boxing Personality or another TV Reality Star?

Its all part of reality TV...you get on TV not because you are good, but how much entertainment you can bring to the show, its all about ratings and drama (even though staged) ...

.that is why I don't think Sergio Mora is for real until he sets up a fight with a real wba/wbc/ibf contender, not a contender from a television show.....because if you notice on the 2nd season of contender, he is there like he is somebody in boxing, sitting next to Sugar Ray Leonard like a champion. The Question is...is he a reality TV or a boxing personality?

I would say he has made himself into both, i don't think you can argue with his talent he is definitely a very good boxer, he is rated the 10th best middleweight in the world by ring magazine and they usually know their stuff, as for being on the 2nd season of contender its probably about keeping himself in the public eye as well as earning some money for doing it. And apparently they are in the process of setting up a fight with Jermaine Taylor so we will be able to see what hes made of then for sure.

We will see after he fights Jermaine Taylor for the Middleweight championship. Could you imagine the ramifications if he wins? The INSTANT credibility that the Contender series would recieve. It would have produced the unified champion of the World! Boxing fans would start watching to see who the Next Sergio Mora is.

If Mora beats Taylor, Leonard and Stallone are geniuses, and NBC will be kicking itself in the *** for canceling what would become the #1 watched show by boxing fans across the nation.

As for your question I believe reality TV is fixed ( even American Idol on some levels), the Contender really isn't (yes the bouts are judged, but have you REALLY disagreed with any of the juding decisions made) Also Reality TV world is a land of make believe (funny huh?) but on the Contender they are REAL boxers, with REAL records and the Fights COUNT on their pro records which makes it REAL. Peter Manfredo Jr was a REAL ranked boxer when Mora beat him. I say he's REAL.

He's the real deal. I thought he'd lose in The Contender I, but he won the whole deal. I believe he fought Manfreddo again and beat him on decision. He's not my kind of fighter... lots of punches, but limited power. He'll fight some more, and if he's manager properly will build a big record and get a title shot... then he'll get KO'd and sink into oblivion.
