    Chipped Tooth Repair

When teeth are chipped or broken they can many times be repaired in a single appointment. The process uses a tooth-colored composite resin material that is bonded directly to the chipped area for a very natural result.

Ask your dentist about this proceedure. I've had it done and the results are nearly undetectable.

I busted my front tooth in half a year ago, and there was no way I could afford the 800 bucks for a crown right away. They can put a temporary tooth over your chipped tooth for under 200 bucks. It's not the same as a crown, and it's not made to be permanent. But it's much cheaper, and it'll last till you do have the money to get a crown. (I still have my temporary on.)

Several good answers above and I'm just agreeing with them. Many chips can be repaired with a simple filling or bonding procedure. Some can even be "fixed" by polishing them off. Don't sweat it and go ask your dentist what you need. If he says you have to have it capped, ask, "Is there anything else that will hold up for a while?" and see what he says.

This will all depend on how big the chip is. It may be able to be polished or a small tooth coloured filling may be able to be placed (Composite Resin). Make an appointment at the Dentist and they will advise you of your options.

If it's only a chip, you don't need a cap.Just a filing would do.If you broke a huge piece off you are going to need a cap and maybe a Roth canal. If you have any sensitivity don't wait.Go to the dentist.

Capped is the answer, unless you have the tooth drilled and that would mean taking more of the tooth out and having a replacement screwed in.which is mega expensive

You can have a tooth colored filling placed that would fix the chip without having to have it crowed.
