That's just a summary I found on-line...

It's a fantastic movie! I had my doubts when it came out. But my Love brought it home on DVD several months ago, & I've watched it at least 4-5 times!!

We did see Dead Man's Chest a couple weeks ago, & loved that, too!! (What a difference on the 'big screen'!) But the first answer was right....it's not necessary to see the first one in order to enjoy the second.

Actually, I think you do need to have seen it to really understand the second one. I suggest actually watching Pirates 1 instead of asking about the story here. Trust me, it'll be well worth your time. Awesome movie.

ok elizibeth swann is on a ship crossing over from england and they see a burning ship elizabeth sees a boy on a plank of wood drifting they bring him aboard elizabeth gets put in charge of him she looks at him and takes in shock a gold pirates meddallion he says his name is will turner and elizabeth hides the meddalion now about 10 years later elizabeth wakes up goes to her droor opens pushes the plank of wood up and she still has the medallion her father comes to bid her good morning she hides the meddallion by putting it on and putting it under her pj's her father brings in a present a beautiful dress he says it's the latest fashion in lodon she says well woemen in london must have learned not to breathe soooooooo sorry i will finish later with the name maddiegaby97 ok later

You can google it. Most sites you find will tell you little detail. The only way that you can get the whole effect of the movie is by watching it.

you dont really need it in order to watch the 2nd one if that's what you're after!
