What do you think of the name Margaret Marie?..more inside?

I like to name our children after people that we have known and admire. We are expecting a baby and are having a difficult time with names. For a girl I was thinking Margaret Marie after 2 of my DH's aunts. For a boy, maybe Luke? But I can't think of a good middle name to go with it. Our last name starts with an H and is only 2 syllables. Any real advice is welcome. Thanks.

Update:

We would probably call her Maggie or something like that. The other kids usually come up with nck names that they like or are easier to say.

Luke is after a cousin of DH who I met and was very impressed with how nice and mature he was as a teenager.

I think it is a beautiful name. I really like names that are "trendy" and have more of a classic sound to them.

As far as a middle name for Luke, maybe Joseph, Daniel, Anthony? Just a few ideas. It would probably sound better if there was more than one syllable.

    Have fun choosing!!

My sister is Margaret Mary, so I like Margaret Marie. Luke is a great boy's name and I would have named my son that (well, Lucas actually) except that our last name starts with an L an is one syllable. Is there a male relative on either side you could use for the middle name? I think something with at least 2 syllables like Ryan? Luke Ryan...I kinda like it!

my name is Margaret Marie! I've always been called Peggy though. Never really liked the name Margaret as a kid, or Peggy for that matter. But it's pretty unique, not too many Margaret's running around these days. I am also named after 2 of my relatives (paternal grandmother and aunt). So I say go for it! Best of luck to you and your family.

I think it is pretty. And, I think it always makes a name even prettier when it is after family members & means something to you. I say go for it! I also like Luke was always in the running when deciding on my son's name. Good Luck.
