What is the ratio for human life?
I am curious how we decide the value of one person’s life against another. A current example would be the current conflict with Israel. Hezbollah raided Israel and took (2) soldiers and now innocent women and children are being killed in Lebanon and Israel is sending troops deeper into Lebanon. What is the ratio then for the eye- for an-eye rule?

Very good question.
But from the look of it, isreal doesnt even consider a ratio, they see the other side as sausage meat in unlimited supplies. a bit like what the nazis saw the jaws back then as barbeque meat

The greater good as they like to put it should only be made under the gravest of conditions. If there is a way to solve the problem without the lost of so much life that route should be taken. Unfortunately we have laid the road to preemptive strikes by invading Iraq. Now all you need is for a solider to get captured and you can start a world war. Once a person is dead they are dead that person does not get to enjoy the greater good out come of war so if you are that person who dies was it worth it. I don't know because I am safe here at home. There are small children dieing everyday over there. Ask them if there life is worth the greater good. Until you speak to the families of those who have past you can not even imagine what it means to loose everything important to you in you life. These methods or war don't work we need to try something new but first we have to know what it is everyone needs. Stop the violence and bring the peace to the Middle East.
This is a World Problem and only if all hands are in can we make real progress.

I am by no means justifying Israeli attacks on Lebanon. What about the Israeli lives lost in the past?especially during all the previous terrorist attacks as also during stand off between 1982 and 2000. One must look at the problem not in isolation but in totality. There is a UN mandate for Hezbollah to disarm. They have not done so and are stocking up arms received from Iran and using the very same weapons to attack Israel. Lebanon is democracy. How can you have an armed group with its own gun-wielding fighters participating in the Government? The writ of Lebanon does not run in southern part of Lebanon the strong hold of Hezbollah. What is wrong if Israel wants to secure its northern borders from the perpetual rocket attacks of Hezbollah. Also why should Hezbollah fight this war from civilian areas and hide their rockets in civilian areas knowing fully well that it would result in civilian casualties. In other words it is a premeditated effort to paint Israel as violator of human rights and there by bring pressure of world opinion to bear on Israel. Hezbollah are no doubt brave fighters. But do they genuinely want peace? Do they want to disarm? Do they accept that Israel can exist as State? Answers to these questions must forth come in clear and unambiguous terms for genuine and durable peace.

This is not a number-for-number issue.
Israel has enemies in Lebanon who, occasionally, attack. Lebanon has done NOTHING to restrain or prevent this. This has gone on for decades - its not new.
Israel notices armaments being gathered by Hezbollah on the border. So they wait for an excuse (the kidnapping) and attack to protect the border that Lebanon will not protect.
What choice did they have?

Girl, use your brain. Or maybe this is all the brain you have. Why don't you add all the other live lost when the Arabs detonate all those bombs in public places? And what about the shilling they been doing for years and years.
