is about? Is it about her mom, a boyfriend, maybe her child?!? I have no clue. Hope ya can help me out with this one! :)

My husband thinks it's about an abortion of a baby boy. I disagree with him, but really I'm unsure. Cuz if you look at the lyrics of her version of the song, it is quite confusing, could be a lesbian relationship, the relationship she had with her mom, or even her child. I have no frickin clue!

Prince wrote it. The Family (a band he wrote songs) originally sang it on one of their albums.
Sinead O'Connor did a cover of it and it became a No. 1 hit.
I scoured the internet looking for more info. on what it was about, but I had no luck. I hope you find out so I can too.

Prince wrote that song for her, I think she is talking about a man in the song. Now what happend to that man I have no idea. It's a little confusing but it was a good song.

Isn't Sinaed O' Connor a lesbian? I think it's simply about a lover. Somebody said because it says 'mama' it's about her Mum. As Prince wrote it, I'm sure 'mama' is used in slang context (i.e. woman')

It is aboput splitting up with her boyfriend. Price did originally write it though.
In the video she cires and it is genuine tears...he did get back with her but she eventually became a lesbian.
