    n = number of dimes

    $ = n/10

    x = the number

    10 + x/15

    1) Your question doesn't make sense. The bank has money in both paper and coins (in denominations of pennies,nickels, etc). If the bank has x amount of money in dimes, then that is what it has, nothing more and nothing less.

    2) 10 + q + 15 ?

    or do you mean 10 plus the quotient of a number 'divided' by 15? In which case, the expression would be

    10 + x / 15

    Y is the story of what happened to X.

    1. Let X be the amount of money in the bank in dollars.

    Let Y be the amount of money in the bank measured in dimes.

    Y is equal to the value of x divided by 10.

    Or...

    Y is equal to ten percent of X.

    2.An expression...not an equation...

    Let X be a number...(15/X)+10

    Number 1 is wrong...can you tell me why?
