The value of the book is to start you thinking about the ideas and theories put forward. In reading, you are exposed to ideas that may open you to things and concepts that you may not have heard before. In the end you believe what you choose to and are comfortable with. It is plausible that there is much truth within the covers. It is a book of fiction, but one mans fiction is another mans truth. When the shouting for and against diminishes, the value of the book is to begin the thinking process.
Had I not read the Da Vinci Code, I would not have learned about the Black Madonnas of Europe. If you want to learn more, look it up on Google. There is a Black Madonna inside the Great Cathedral of Chartres, below the Altar. This Statue will challenge what you have grown up believing. Jesus and the Virgin Mary have always been portrayed as fair complexioned.
The Black Madonnas and Christ Child are clearly Black, with Black features. These statues are most common in, but not limited to Southern France. This is probably material for another book. It was said that Mary Magdalene left the Holy Land for France after the Crucifixation. Saint Sara is said to have grown up in Provence, and is a local icon. Many people believe her to be the daughter of Mary Magdalene. Something to think about, wouldn't you say?

It's the sort of book you race through to find out what happens, and then realise afterwards it was complete gibberish.
It's a handful of wierd theories, from many different sources, cobbled together to make a thriller. The weird theories vary from the just-about-possible to the utterly ludicrous with no more evidence for the former than there is for the latter.
I can't believe anyone would want to read it twice - the clunky prose and the non-existent characterisation show up like sore thumbs second time round.

Alot of the history the book talks about relating to the change from paganism to christianity is very true. Also the talks about the Divine Feminine is true and there are still people today who practice some of the same rituals. As far as Jesus having a wife, I personally think that there is alot of things that society has been afraid to find out for themselves. We like to believe lies. LOL

It's a nice story but I think it's fiction. There were tests proving that the Merovingians had no middle eastern descent, the Priory of Sion was recently created, and there isn't even a Symbology department at Harvard. So you can see how Brown likes to create something out of nothing :)

I thought it was an entertaining book. I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about or why people think it's so controversial. So what if Jesus was married? I'm not saying he was or he wasn't, but it doesn't change my Christian beliefs. The book does put forward some interesting points though...

Look, i don't think that all this is true because Mr. Dan Brown the author is a mason so maybe he could imagine all this with a piece of truth like the holy grand.....

It would have been considered highly unusual for a man of Jesus' age (30) not to have been married.
Beyond that, it's just a series of quaint notions.
